Living In The Mix
Last week I shared several wonderful answers to recent prayers and remembered the importance of living in celebration of God’s gracious responses to our appeals for help.
As I determined to hold onto the joy of those victories, this week I have prayed for two families traumatized by COVID: one family mourned the death of a husband/father/grandfather and the other continues the prayer-faith vigil for a beloved sister on ventilator who began a positive turn yesterday.
Such is life—a mix of good news and bad news.
We can attempt to minimize that fact with gentler, more positive words, but it doesn’t change the reality that all of us must find a way to live in the middle of desirable and undesirable situations.
This is where Christians are at great advantage.
We have the Bible, God’s infallible truth preserved for our benefit, full of stories and promises that serve as life preservers when we feel we are drowning and stabilizers when we feel we are losing our footing.
There is also the loving support of the Body of Christ—other believers who pray, encourage and journey with us as we navigate this life in the mix.
This week I am experiencing the ministry of the Word of God and the people of God, as I celebrate with some, mourn with others and continue to pray for all.
