Living in View of the Cross and Tomb

During this week after Resurrection Sunday, I have been reflecting on how to live a post-resurrection life worthy of Jesus’ sacrifice.

He has already paid the horrific price. Nothing or no one will ever undo or minimize that finality.

All that remains is the matter of what I will do with the benefits Christ died and arose for me to experience.

How will I steward the freedom from sin and the strength to live holy and victoriously in all conditions and circumstances?

Will I allow my own sense of unworthiness or Satan’s framing of my desire for God’s gifts as selfishness to cause me to withdraw from receiving?

Or will I realize that I best honor the Lord when I gratefully accept all of His tangible and intangible graces, making my life a display of His goodness and power?

More than ever before, I am determined to live every day in view of both the cross and the vacant tomb, remembering the great cost Jesus paid and living fully in the freedom and abundance He offers me.

“But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow.” John 10:10b The Passion Translation
